Краткий обзор книги на английском:
I caved and bought it,
here. I don't know if it's worth $20 if you own the first edition, but there's some stuff in there that you won't find around the web that's definitely useful.
The first third of the book is largely unchanged, probably about half of the book is the same or similar to the 1st edition. It does have better formatting throughout, and some more pictures. Some things are elaborated. After the original assistance templates he goes into detail on a few others. These are probably the biggest addition to the book:
· Programming Your Assistance Work - Gives percents and reps for "big" assistance lifts and a template. Similar to the main lifts, but high reps.
· 5/3/1 and Rest/Pause Training - His take on how to combine the ideas of Dante Trudel's DC Training with 5/3/1. Actually a fairly long section, a few different templates.
· 5/3/1 Full Body Training - Another long section. Some can be found around the web and some that cannot yet. I'm sure someone will post it eventually... Gives a template of a few phases which increases the intensity and volume of squatting. Also gives a template where you squat, press variation and pull variation Monday-Friday with Saturday and Sunday for rest.
· 5/3/1 and crossfit - didn't read it really, just the intro.
· 5/3/1 for beginners - Can be found on t-nation (blood and chalk series).
Also there is a pretty big section on eating for various goals. A lot of the advice can be found on the web, but it's in the book and in one place. Expanded FAQ with a lot of stuff that's probably found on the internet (haven't gone through the whole thing yet).
Anyway, I was surprised there wasn't a topic for this yet, so I made this one.
