Next MD Cover: 2011 USA Overall Champion Steve Kuclo “I have no doubt in my mind he will be Mr. Olympia,” four-time Mr. Olympia champion Jay Cutler has said about Steve Kuclo, the man on the cover of this month’s MD. That day will come, as Steve is a magnificent champion who has all the right tools to be Mr. Olympia – an amazing X-frame, the mindset, the mass, the width and impressive genetics. But first things first. Before he blasts chest or legs, Steve might have to save someone’s life. You see, Steve Kuclo, is no ordinary bodybuilder. The road to Olympia is not an easy or quick trip, but Steve knows he will get there. He’s got youth on his side. Steve is only 26 years old and he already placed third in his first pro show, this year’s New York Pro. For Steve Kuclo, The quest for the Sandow and his life as a bodybuilder is something he has to balance with the same obligation that most of us do: a day job. Being hailed as “the next big thing” with Mr. Olympia potential is quite a tall order, and a heavy load for any new pro bodybuilder to carry on his shoulders. The pressure is even greater when the bodybuilder has stressful, physically demanding job. In the September issue of MD (which appears on newsstands July 31st.) Bodybuilding historian Peter McGough takes an in depth look at Steve, who works full time as a firefighter and paramedic – not a very bodybuilding-friendly profession. Is Steve Kuclo the next big thing? An MD roundtable of past Mr. Olympia Champions, and industry experts answer the question.
