призовые "Олимпии" увеличены на сумму 121 тыс. "зеленых".
На этот шаг были вынуждены пойти нынешние промоутеры "Олимпии" - издательский дом АМИ, после того, как на них вылелась бочка критики по поводы смены места проведения "Олимпии" с отеля "Менделей Бей" на отель "Орлеанс", а так же ввиду появления большого количество "жирных" на призы новых и не очень новых (имеется ввиду Классик) турниров.

Таким образом призовые Олимпии стали равны $ 661,000 супротив $ 403,000 на Арнольд Классик.

Ром, ты случайно не знаешь организаторы Олимпии снимают этот отель только на мр.0-2005 или они заключили контракт на несколько лет?

Grifon, до 2005 года у организаторов был контракт на 5 лет (с 2000 по 2005 соответственно) с владельцами "Mandala Bay" - это тот самый отель, где проводятся самые престижные бои в боксе: Тайсон, Дзю и др. Т.е. Каждый год на 3 дня арендовались малые выставочные залы и на 2 дня - большой зал представлений.

да вообще это один из самых слабеньких отелей Вегасе.
Похоже, что выбор был сделан, исходя из наличия у отеля большого зала конвенций.

Кстати, если кто не знает, новый раунд на Олимпии будет оцениваться отдельно. Победитель получит 50.000$

Молодцы! Дают спортсменам шанс ещё немножко деньжат подсрубить Кстати, ты не в курсе, отдельные призовые в новом раунде будет получать только победитель, или будут давать ещё и за 2,3... место?

Luke Wood AKA Kangaroo Jack will be throwing his hat in the ring for thw Wild card event! It will be an awsome event. Win, lose or draw there is no better place to market yourself than at the Olympia in contest shape, so i am very excited. This is a great idea and whoever does win will have earned the right to be on the Olympia stage as there will be alot of great competitiors. Only first place wil be awarded so it makes it  very hard show for the competitors and the judges.

Markus says that his preparation for the Olympia is nearly injury free. 7 more weeks to go and I want to inform you about my preparation.

Everything is going great so far. My wheight is about 302 pounds but 2 weeks ago I suffered from a small injury in my abdominal region. This was caused by taking off the wheights from the incline bench press.
Fortunately it healed and everything is ok now.

I have my waist under control which should help my proportions.

People who know me, know that I never put preparation pics online as this makes me nervous., but I will keep you updated on my progress.

I m really looking forward to the Mister Olympia and especially after, when I can resume eating.

05. August 2005: The new criterias in proffessional bodybuilding regarding aesthetics.

A lot of people asked me for my opinion about this subject and I want to say a few things about it.

First of all I want to say that I will not let this new rules influence my presentation as a massive bodybuilder.
A massive bodybuilder should always stay massive and will always stay massive.

For me, bodybuilding was always about freaky muscles, thick muscles and power.

If my point of view interfers with the judging panel, it might be a pitty but I will not change anything.

I advise that everybody who likes the new judging criteria and hates the massive freaks should change to the fitness class.

Nevertheless I try to have the best proportions possible for me. A 285 pound bodybuilder like me can never have the waist of a Dexter Jackson. I agree although that the waist should always be smaller then the chest.

But that was never my problem, or does someone disagree?

As promised, here is part II. Markus is talking about the challenge round :

You have to analyse the situation realisticly.
Let`s talk about the 2004 Mister Olympia challenge round.
6th place: Günter Schlierkamp, 5th place: me; 4th place: Dexter Jackson; 3th place: Gustavo Badell; 2th place: Jay Cutler; 1th place: Ronnie Coleman. (= 4 x mass vs. 2 x aesthetik)

Would the final places and the rest of the top10 be a mix of mass and aesthetik athletes, you could fear that the good placings would go to the lighter guys with a pleasing line.

With the exception of Dexter and Gustavo there are not many of the "lighter guys" who have top6 potential. That s the reason why I think that there won t be any big changes.

Last year, both Gustavo and Dexter which are athletes with great lines and aesthetics placed ahead of some of the massive guys like me for example.

Last year they were very strong oponents and they will cause a threat this year too.

But besides these two athletes, which other (lighter) guys could the judges put into the top6?

I think that the new rules will apply in the lower placings so that athletes like Ahmad Haidar or Richard Jones have the chance to beat some of the bigger guys.

Nevertheless even that they have great shape, I don t think that they will be a threat for the top6.

But if a scenario like this would occur, guys like Ronnie Jay and myself would fight for places 10-14  That would be funny though.

All joking aside, let s wait what will happen.

Unfair placings would anger the athletes and the fans.

Hardcore bodybuilding still is a small sport and the sport lives from its fans.
And the hardcore fans love the extreme.
Therefore I will never let you down.

Note : By saying lighter athletes I never meant this in a degrading manner. I would simply clarify the relation between 220 and 260 pound bodybuilders.
I respect all my oponents and their achievements a lot.
