A Day in Hollywood!!!!!
06/25/2011
A friend, Mo Anouti, invited me to visit a film set in Hollywood this week. Mo is a screenwriter and actor, and I was there to see the filming of a trailer for the new thriller he has written. It was a great opportunity to see how a film is made and learn more about the work of actors and other film professionals.
I met several actors whose work I have seen on the screen, including Christopher Allen Nelson(Kill Bill), and Russian actor, Oleg Taktarov(Predators). I was surprised and impressed to see how hard the job of acting can be. Learning your lines, working to a camera, controlling your expressions and voice...all these skills take training, focus, and skill. It was a pleasure to see these actors at work, and they were all really great people.
It was also cool to see the stunt team work their magic. This film being a thriller, there is lots of action. I always knew stunt actors had a dangerous job, with all the fights and falls and crashes they have to simulate, but it was impressive to see that they were serious actors, too. Just like the actors they stand in for, they must be able to have great control over their bodies and facial expressions. Their work is crucial to making a fight scene or death look realistic and believable on screen.
Screenwriter, Mo Anouti, is a former champion bodybuilder. He has chosen to focus his talents and efforts on a career in Hollywood. It is great to see him as he--step-by-step--successfully pursues his goals. His friends can see how much he wants this future and are motivated to support him and pursue their own goals with the same passion.
It is a great lesson for anyone who is serious about attaining any goal. If you really want something, go for it, make a plan, do the work, and you can succeed. You can be whoever you want and do whatever you want if you make the effort.
Work hard towards your goals and have a great week!
With all my Love!!!
Oksana
