If you think stretching has no benefit or doesn't improve anything, you're doing it wrong. Do this and see what happens over a few weeks.
1. Take a muscle to the point of light tension.
2. Hold that position until the muscle relaxes. Whether it's 30 seconds or 3 minutes doesn't matter.
3. Go to a point of slightly higher tension
4. Repeat 2
Keep repeating this until you make no further progress. You're done for the day. Most stretch for all of 15 seconds and call it a day and that doesn't do squat.
