Can Lionel Beyeke Hang With The Big Guns? Or is he Over Hyped?
IForce Nutrition presents coverage of the Flex Pro and Fitness Championships February 18, 2012
In 2009 Frenchman Lionel Beyeke placed runner up behind Roelly Winklaar at the Arnold Amateur. In February, 2010, at his pro debut in Phoenix he took sixth place right behind Troy Alves. In 2011, Beyeke placed fourth at the New York Pro behind Kai Greene, Ronny Rockel and Craig Richardson.
Shortly thereafter he took runner up at the Toronto Pro, again behind Richardson. This year we expect to see even more of this rising star.
Recently Beyeke, who plans to compete in the Flex Pro next month, as well as the Arnold Classic and the Australian Grand Prix in March, spent some time in San Jose, California to get dialed in for 2012 with Hany Rambod.
Now lets put this into perspective.
Last year he lost to Craig Richardson in both Toronto and the New York Pro! Richardson placed 15th at the 2011 Olympia.
Can he prove himself with the size and conditioning to go up against the big guns like defending Arnold Champ Branch Warren, runner up Dennis Wolf, Evan Centopani and 2008 Mr Olympia and three time Arnold Champ Dexter Jackson? Is this guy being over hyped?? What do you think? Check him out in this video posing at the 2012 New York Pro! Will he be a player at the 2012 Arnold Classic?
